Unvaccinated man from Reg. 6 dies from COVID; 134 new cases recorded

A 52-year-old unvaccinated Region Six (East-Berbice Corentyne) is the country’s latest COVID-19 death. The Ministry of Health reported that the man died on November 10.

This means that since March 2020, 952 people have died from the virus, and for November thus far, 22 persons have died.

Meanwhile, 134 new infections were recorded from 1, 447 tests, taking the total number of confirmed cases to date to 36, 439.

Region One (six cases), Region Three (15 cases), Region Four (43 cases), Region Five (13 cases), Region Six (38 cases), Region Seven (three cases), Region Eight (five cases) and Region Ten (11 cases).

There are 16 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 57 patients are in institutional isolation and 2, 317 patients are in home isolation.

To date, 33, 097 persons have recovered from the virus.
