Two sales representatives of Johnny P Shopping Centre, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, were relieved of cash, electronics and gold jewellery after being accosted by two armed bandits on Thursday.
Police said the robbery occurred at around 08:30h.
The report said that one of the sales representatives, a man aged 28 years, left the Western Union Department at the Supermarket open to conduct a transaction at the front for a disabled person.
When he returned, he was accosted by one of the suspects armed with a handgun who held him at gunpoint. Police said the gunman requested that he hand over his valuables.
Complying, he handed over one iPhone 11 valued $180,000; a gold ring valued $112,000 and an undisclosed sum of cash, property of the establishment.
The other sales representative, a 26-year-old woman, was relieved of a HP laptop computer valued $75,000.
The report said that the male sales representative was ordered to lay on the ground while the gunman exited the Western Union Office through a wooden door to the Supermarket and joined another suspect who was waiting.
Both suspects then exited the Supermarket and mounted a white and black XR motorcycle missing the number plate that was parked in front of the Supermarket; police said they escaped east of Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt.
An alarm was raised and police were summoned to the scene.
