    The Ministry of Health on Saturday reported that two more people who tested positive for COVID-19 have died.

    The new deaths are two males, ages 49 and 39, from Region Six (East Berbice –Corentyne) and Region Three (Essequibo Islands – West Demerara), respectively. They were both unvaccinated. The 49-year-old died on November 9 while the other man died on November 13.

    The total number of persons who died in November thus far is 27 while 957 people have died since March 2020.

    The ministry also reported 89 new COVID-19 cases from a total of 1, 574 tests. This takes the overall number of confirmed cases to 36, 741.

    The new cases were recorded in the following regions; Region One (six new case), Region Two (14 cases), Region Three (five cases), Region Four (35 cases), Region Five (three cases), Region Six (19 cases), Region Eight (one case) and Region Nine (two cases).

    There are 15 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, 55 cases are in institutional isolation, and 2, 232 patients are in home isolation.

    To date, 33, 482 persons have recovered from the virus.
