    3 unvaccinated women die from COVID

    Three unvaccinated women died from COVID-19 between November 17 and 18, the Ministry of Health reported on Thursday.

    The women are aged – 69, 85 and 73 and are from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica).

    The total number of deaths now stands at 968 since Guyana recorded its first case on March 11, 2020; 39 of those deaths have been recorded in November thus far.

    Meanwhile, 91 new COVID infections were recorded from 2, 352 tests. This takes the total number of confirmed cases to date to 37, 090.

    The new cases were recorded in the following regions; Region One (three cases); Region Two (eight cases); Region Three (eight cases); Region Four (38 cases); Region Five (one case); Region Six (30 cases); Region Seven (two cases) and Region Ten (one case).

    There are 16 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 59 patients are in institutional isolation and 1, 825 patients are in home isolation.

    A total of 34, 222 people have recovered thus far.
