A 52-year-old security guard of Affiance Village, Essequibo Coast in Region Two was reportedly strangled to death on Monday afternoon by a known taxi driver.
Dead is Indira Lall, a mother of two. The taxi driver has since been arrested.
A relative told the News Room that Lall frequently used the taxi driver since she comes off of work late at nights. On Monday at about 23:00hrs, the taxi driver dropped her off at her daughter’s house and claimed that she (Lall) was not feeling well.
The relative revealed that when the daughter saw her mother, her body was lifeless and she was frothing at the mouth. Lall was then rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
An autopsy conducted on Thursday revealed that she died as a result of strangulation.
The family remains in a state of shock as investigations continue. The Guyana Police Force has not released any information on the murder.
