Guyanese Carlston Harris will look to build on the impressive start to his UFC career when he enters the Octagon against the undefeated Shavkat Rakhmonov of Kazakhstan on February 5th, 2022.
Harris, based in Brazil, made the announcement on his official social media accounts on Monday, sharing a photo of the contract signing.
Harris has won both his UFC fights in quite convincing fashion, stopping his opponents in the first round.
In September 2021, Harris stunned his rival Impa Kasanganay, knocking out the American in the opening round of their UFC Fight Night clash in Nevada.
Prior to that, he marked his UFC debut with a first-round knockdown of American Christian Aguilera in May, becoming only the 19th fighter in history to finish a fight with the Anaconda Choke Submission.
Harris’ overall record is now 17-4.
Notably, Rakhmonov has won both his UFC fights by Submission, a first-round win against Alex Oliveira in October 2020 and a second-round victory against Michel Prazeres in June 2021.
Prior to his UFC induction, Rakhmonov had won all 12 of his fights within the distance, either by submission or knockout.
