    Woman, 48, latest COVID-19 death; 31 new cases

    A 48-year-old unvaccinated woman from Region Four (Demerara- Mahaica) is Guyana’s latest COVID-19 death, according to information provided by the Ministry of Health.

    With this new death, a total of 977 people have been confirmed dead from COVID-19 since March 11, 2020; 47 of those deaths have been recorded in the month of November so far.

    Meanwhile, another 31 individuals were infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes the disease COVID-19. These new infections were recorded after 721 tests were done. With these new cases, the total number of confirmed infections has increased to 37,356.

    These new cases were recorded in: Region One (one new case), Region Three (six cases), Region Four (nine cases), Region Five (one case) and Region Six (14 cases).

    There are also nine patients receiving care in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 75 people in institutional isolation, 1,729 people in home isolation and two people in institutional quarantine.

    Meanwhile, a total of 34,566 persons have recovered after they were infected with COVID-19.
