Dottin, Taylor steer West Indies Women to victory over Ireland

West Indies Women defeated Ireland Women by six wickets in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Harare.

After limiting the Irish to 159, West Indies Women coasted to victory at 163-4 in 39.3 overs in Match Three of the Qualifier.

West Indies Women had a solid bowling effort led by veteran spinner Anisa Mohammed, who picked up 3-40 from her 10 overs.

Captain Stafanie Taylor (2-15), Hayley Matthews (2-20) and Shamilia Connell (2-33) were also effective with the ball as Ireland Women were dismissed with as many as seven overs remaining.

Gaby Lewis made 36 and Eimear Richardson 32.

West Indies Women, in reply, were led by opener Deandra Dottin, who cracked 73 off 87 balls (8x4s, 2x6s). Taylor was unbeaten at the end on 41 off 54 when victory was achieved.

West Indies Women’s next game is on Saturday (November 27) against Sri Lanka Women.
