Security guard robbed of electric bike, phones, cash

A 54-year-old security guard of Church Street, Enterprise, East Coast Demerara was robbed by two bandits of his electric bike valued $100,000, two smartphones and $20,000 cash on Wednesday.

Police Headquarters reported that the incident occurred between 03:30hrs and 03:50hrs while the security guard was entering his yard.

Police said the security guard was confronted by the two suspects who were armed with a cutlass and handgun; they demanded he hand over his electric bike but he refused and one of the suspects pointed the gun to his face and took away the keys.

While attempting to escape into his house, the security guard was also relieved of his iPhone valued at $90,000, his Samsung S8 valued at $80,000 and the cash.

The suspects then escaped on the electric bike; investigations are ongoing.
