Female volleyball tournament set for Sunday at Sports Hall

Six female volleyball teams will vie for supremacy on Sunday (November 28) when the Guyana Volleyball Federation stages a one-day tournament at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue, Georgetown.

The competition will serve off at 09:00h.

The Federation said the aim of the tournament to select a senior squad to commence training for future events. It will also serve as a catalyst for the formation of an elite academy, which will be convened by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport.

The six participating teams are Castrol Strikers, Eagles Volleyball Club, Berbice Females, Laluni Volleyball Club, Fluffy Girls of Linden and Pakuri Warriors.

President of the Guyana Volleyball Federation, Levi Nedd, said he is expecting a highly competitive day of volleyball, one that will give the Federation a gauge of the level of play among the females.
