A 33-year-old fisherman of Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara (WCD) is in serious condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was chopped several times during a row over a woman.
Police Headquarters reported that Brian Hutchins known as ‘Blacka’ was walking along Church Street in Anna Catherina, WCD when he was attacked by the suspect. The incident occurred at about 22:00hrs on Wednesday. The woman is said to be the ‘child mother’ of the suspect.
The suspect escaped on foot while Hutchins was left bleeding on the roadway.
Police said Hutchins stopped a car that was passing and the driver took him to the Leonora Cottage Hospital. He was subsequently transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital and underwent surgery and remains in a serious condition.
