Ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) on Friday discovered $US17,000 (G$3.4M) worth of cocaine hidden inside Christmas cards at the Guyana Post Office in Georgetown.
A brief release from CANU noted that ranks were performing duties when they made the discovery of 647.6 grams (1.4 lbs) of the illegal substance in five yellow envelopes.
The envelopes, destined for Brooklyn New York, each had cocaine concealed in a sealed plastic pack within Christmas cards, CANU noted.
