Region 2 man dies from COVID, 17 in ICU

A 69-year-old fully vaccinated man from Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) is the country’s latest COVID-19 death. The Ministry of Health reported that the man died on November 27.

With this new death, a total of 987 people have died from the disease since March 11, 2020, with 56 of those deaths recorded for this month thus far.

Meanwhile, 66 new COVID-19 cases were recorded from a total of 913 tests, taking the overall number of confirmed cases to 37, 773.

The new cases were recorded in the following regions; Region One (two cases), Region Two (eight cases), Region Three (seven cases), Region Four (19 cases), Region Five (one case), and Region Six (29 cases).

There are 17 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 71 patients are in institutional isolation and 1, 433 are in home isolation.

To date, 35, 265 persons have recovered from the virus.
