A 5-year-old boy of Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) is among two new COVID-19 deaths, increasing Guyana’s overall death toll to 994.
He died on November 29; this is the eleventh child to have died from the disease here.
The other victim is a fully vaccinated 49-year-old woman from Region Five (Mahaica-Berbice) who died on November 30. With those deaths, November’s overall death toll has increased to 63.
Meanwhile, another 49 new infections were recorded from 953 tests, increasing the total number of confirmed infections has increased to 37,874.
These new cases were recorded in Region Four (22 cases), Region Five (three cases), Region Six (19 cases) and Region 10 (five cases).
There are also 18 patients receiving care in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 72 people in institutional isolation, 1,139 people in home isolation and two people in institutional quarantine.
Meanwhile, a total of 35,651 people have recovered after they were infected with COVID-19.
