Vigilance vendor on $450k bail for shooting at three people
A 20-year-old vendor of Vigilance, East Coast Demerara was charged on Wednesday when he appeared at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court for reportedly opening fire on three people.
Junior Gathers pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted $450,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
He is accused of discharging a loaded firearm at Edesi Edgill, Kobina Watson and Jason Archibald. Police Headquarters reported that the incident occurred on October 31, 2021.
The magistrate ordered Gathers to report to the officer-in-charge at Vigilance Police Station every Monday and Tuesday.
The matter was postponed until March 17, 2022.
