    An 82-year-old unvaccinated man from Region Five (Mahaica- Berbice) is among the three latest COVID-19 deaths reported by the Ministry of Health.

    The man died on November 22. The two other deaths reported were:

    1. A 54-year-old man from Region Three (Essequibo Islands- West Demerara) who died on December 3. His vaccination status is unknown
    2. A 62-year-old unvaccinated man from Region One (Barima- Waini) who died on December 4

    With these new deaths, a total of 1,004 people have reportedly died from the disease COVID-19 since March 2020. And, there have been five COVID-19 deaths recorded during the month of December so far while November’s death toll has increased to 68.

    Meanwhile, another 50 individuals were infected with the novel coronavirus virus. These new infections were recorded after 1,713 tests were done. With these new cases, the total number of confirmed infections has increased to 38,118.

    These new cases were recorded in: Region One (three cases), Region Two (three cases), Region Three (seven cases), Region Four (16 cases), Region Five (three cases) and Region Six (18 cases).

    There are also 18 patients are receiving care in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 56 people are in institutional isolation, 870 people are in home isolation and eight people are in institutional isolation.

    Meanwhile, a total of 36,170 people have recovered after they were infected with COVID-19.
