Samuel Ince-Carvalhal and Mohryan Baksh will attend both events, while Shomari Wiltshire, Michael Alphonso and Nicholas Verwey will attend the US Open.

The Canada Open will run from December 11 to 14, while the US Open is for December 18 to 21.

For Ince-Carvalhal and Alphonso, it will be the first time competing at these events, and all five of the talented players are upbeat and eager to get back into competitive action after a lengthy layoff due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wiltshire, Ince-Carvalhal and Alphonso recently returned from the inaugural Junior Pan American Games in Colombia and according to them, they gained a wealth of experience that puts them in good stead for this event.

Ince-Carvalhal, 17, and Alphonso, 15, both indicated to News Room Sport that while results did not go their way in Colombia, playing against older players, some of whom are professionals, thought them the need to have an improvement in fitness levels and technical work.

Meanwhile, for Verwey and Baksh, this will be their first taste of intense competitive action since the pandemic struck. The young duo is enthusiastic, noting that the aim is to win given the tireless work on fitness and technical skills while balancing online studies.

Both Alphonso and Wiltshire are Caribbean individual champions, winning titles in 2019, while their teammates are high-performers at the domestic level and play significant roles in Guyana winning the team title at Junior CASA.
