    Five unvaccinated persons who tested positive for COVID-19 died between December 8 and 9, the Ministry of Health reported on Thursday.

    This means that 14 people died in December thus far while the overall death toll has increased to 1, 014.

    Four of the five deaths were recorded on December 9.

    The following details on the persons who died were released by the ministry:

     

    Meanwhile, 69 new COVID-19 cases were recorded from 1, 094 tests, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 38, 402.

    The new cases were recorded in the following regions; Region One (two cases), Region Two (two cases), Region Three (four cases), Region Four (24 cases), Region Five (seven cases), Region Six (19 cases), Region Seven (eight cases) and Region Ten (three cases).

    There are 14 patients in the Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, 47 patients are in institutional isolation and 822 patients are in home isolation.

    To date, 36, 505 persons have recovered from the virus.
