‘Spragga’ arrested after small boat found smuggling ganja to Suriname
Jagdeo Ramdass, also known as ‘Spragga’ is expected to make an appearance at the Springlands Magistrate’s Court, Corentyne, Berbice on Monday to answer to charges of trafficking narcotics.
A statement from the Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU) noted that on Wednesday December, 08, some of its ranks received a tip off and conducted a narcotics operation at Moleson Creek, Corentyne Berbice,
During that operation, officers intercepted a wooden boat suspected of smuggling narcotics to Suriname. The boat was searched in the presence of three persons that were on board at the time of interception and a quantity of narcotics was discovered onboard.
The three persons were detained and transported to CANU Headquarters with the cannabis which was weighed and yielded a total of 684 grams.
Following a thorough investigation, Ramdass was charged.
