Wanted bulletin issued for suspect who murdered bus conductor

Chaos broke out at the Route 44 minibus park at Commerce Street, Georgetown on Wednesday after a minibus conductor was stabbed to death during an argument with a ‘tout.’

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Morven Nurse who resided at Haslington, East Coast Demerara (ECD). The Police Force has since issued a wanted bulletin for the suspect who was identified as 27-year-old Paul Junior Lynch of Bachelor’s Adventure, ECD.

According to the police report, Nurse and the suspect were involved in an argument and that both men pelted each other with empty beer bottles and bricks.

The situation escalated and Lynch charged towards the suspect and stabbed him with a brown-handle knife at around 11:00hrs.

The victim ran a short distance before collapsing while the suspect escaped in a minibus. Videos of the incident quickly circulated on social media and shows the victim and suspect in a scuffle before the suspect ran off to arm himself.

A few seconds later, the suspect returned armed with what appeared to be large bricks and a sharp object in his hand. The two disappeared from the frame and second after, Nurse was observed in a bloodied state. He later collapsed and the video ended.

Police said Nurse was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he died while undergoing surgery.
