Guyana has recorded 66 new COVID-19 infections after conducting 1,372 tests, the Ministry of Health reported on Saturday.
Guyana’s total confirmed cases has now increased to 38, 817. No new deaths were recorded and so the death toll remains at 1,028; December’s death toll remains at 28.
The new cases were recorded in: Region One (one case); Region Two (one case); Region Three (five cases); Region Four (21 cases); Region Five (12 cases); Region Six (16 cases); Region Seven (Three cases); Region Nine (six cases) and Region 10 (one case).
There are also 11 patients in the Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, 43 patients are in institutional isolation and 699 patients are in home isolation.
To date, 37, 036 persons have recovered from the virus.
