Resilience, but this will be back to official bragging rights and the country’s champions in the various divisions.

Bess said he is confident it will be very competitive, owing to the long hours of prep by the athletes and the hunger to get back on stage, which promises to be a “great treat” for the fans.

The President firmly believed that given the quality of athletes, the fans are assured of something spectacular and felt had it not been for the limited capacity seating, they could have hosted their biggest crowd ever, given the high interest being shown.

The GBBFF has hosted events during the pandemic, but all have been behind closed doors, as the Federation resorted to live-streaming.

While on stage athletes will be required to stand six feet apart from each other.

At backstage athletes will be required to wear their masks and to maintain the mandatory physical distancing. Judges will be seated six feet from each other and will be required to wear their masks.

There will be about 30 athletes competing in the three different segments of the competition, namely Bodybuilding, Miss Bikini and Men’s Physique.

Tickets cost $2,500 and can be purchased at the National Cultural Centre’s Box Office. Only 200 fully-vaccinated patrons will be allowed entry.

The Championship will also be streamed live on the Federation’s and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport Facebook pages, and is sponsored by the National Sports Commission, DTS Trading and Shipping Inc. and Fitness Express.
