Guyanese opener Matthew Nandu was among the runs on Tuesday as West Indies Rising Stars Under-19 side defeated their South African counterparts by eight wickets in the second Youth One Day International in St. Vincent.

The victory means the Caribbean side has levelled the four-matches series, which started on Sunday with the young Proteas winning by 18 runs.

Chasing a meagre 104 in game two, West Indies coasted to victory in 23.2 overs, with just two wickets down. Nandu scored 42 not out off 75 balls (4x4s) to anchor the chase.

Earlier, the South Africans were dismissed for 103 in 31.3 overs with Michael Copeland making 24 off 52 (2x4s, 1×6).

Bowling for West Indies Under-19, Jaden Carmichael took 3-25, while there were two wickets apiece for McKenny Clarke (2-12), Johann Layne (2-14) and Anderson Mahase (2-34).

    Game three is on Thursday.
