Bent St., Leopold St. through to Futsal semis after high-scoring wins
Bent Street and Leopold Street are through to the semi-finals of the Guyana Football Federation/Kashif and Shanghai Organisation Year-end Futsal Championship following high-scoring wins in their quarter-final games on Tuesday evening.
Playing at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue, Georgetown, Bent Street defeated Back Circle 7-3 and Leopold Street walked off with a 6-3 success over Renegades.
For Bent Street, Jermine Junior led the way with five goals, with support coming from William Europe and Daniel Wilson with a solitary strike each.
Selwyn Williams, Stephan McLean, Stephon Reynolds and Raushan Ritch were the men on target for Back Circle with one goal apiece.
Leopold Street had goals from just two players in their win, led by a helmet-trick from Darren Benjamin and a double from Derron Niles.
On target for Renegades were Jamal Pereira, Kevin Dundass and Lee-Orlon Lovell.
Quarter-final action continues on Thursday (December 30) at the same venue with Sparta Boss facing Berbice All-Stars from 20:00h and Gold is Money up against North East from 21:30h.
The teams are battling for a top prize of G$1 million.
