The Rotary Club of Demera has been on an extensive mission to reach numerous people in need over the festive season.

According to a release, the Club has been active for the past two weeks and they started December with a traditional activity of decorating and engaging in breakfast festivities at the Archer’s and Byer’s Senior Citizens Home, where they also donated care hampers.

Additionally, the Club hosted a Christmas party and fun day for the Sophia Children’s Home and Family Centre, where they also distributed gifts and care hampers and engaged in games with the children.

The Club has supported the Centre for close to two years with the development of a reading corner and weekly readings that are done every Saturday.

Support was also given to the Kuru Kururu community with hamper distribution to the families of children attending the Kuru Kururu School.

As regulations governing the COVID-19 pandemic are still being enforced, the children were unable to assemble for the usual Christmas party.
