Teenagers robbed at gunpoint while waiting for food outside Chinese restaurant

Two teenagers who were waiting for their food outside the Yong’s Chinese Restaurant at Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, were robbed by a lone gunman on Tuesday night.

Police Headquarters reported that an 18-year-old was robbed of his wallet containing $45,000 while his 19-year-old friend was robbed of a black A21 Samsung cellphone valued at $35,000.

According to the police, the victims were standing on the western side of the road at around 20:15hrs when the suspect, who was on the opposite side of the road, ran over and pointed a black handgun at them.

The bandit told them not to move as he removed the items from their person.
