The semi-finals of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF)/Kashif and Shanghai Organisation Futsal competition are expected of titanic proportions as four of the country’s top teams will collide on January 4 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.

Leopold Street and Bent Street had already sealed their berths earlier in the week and just like they produced thumping performances, so did Sparta Boss and Gold is Money to book their spots.

Sparta will now face Leopold Street, while Gold is Money clash with Bent Street for a place in the January 8 final.

Sparta’s 7-1 triumph came off the back of a helmet-trick from Stephen Alfred, who got support from Sheldon Shepherd, Nicholas McArthur and Eusi Phillips.

Nigel Caesar had scored the lone goal for Berbice All-Stars in the seventh minute, which initially rattled the formidable Sparta.

The other quarter-final was a bit more competitive as North East offered a stiffer challenge to Gold Is Money, despite going down 4-8.

The talented Randolph Wagner helped himself to four goals as Jamal Pedro, Cecil Jonathan, Marcus Wilson and Joel Yhap were the other scorers.

For North East, Jomal Cozier had a brace, while Lindy Gardiner and Daniel Ross both had one each on the score sheet.
