Boy, 9, among three people attacked by bees in Rose Hall

A nine-year-old boy along with his father, 35-year-old Royon Ferrerie and 49-year-old cane harvester Henchand Madray were attacked by a swarm of bees near the Rose Hall town primary school in Region Six (East Berbice- Corentyne) on Friday.

A swarm of bees emerged from an open lot that was opposite the primary school and attacked the passersby, according to a police report.

The boy, his father, and the cane harvester were taken to the Port Mourant Public Hospital to seek medical attention after they were stung.

They were all admitted for observation in a serious but stable condition. Though Ferrerie and Hemchand were treated and sent away, the boy has been referred to the New Amsterdam Hospital for further treatment.
