‘Sugar’ charged with attempting to murder community police who was arresting him for rape

A 29-year-old labourer of Wisroc, Linden has been charged with attempting to murder a community policeman who had gone to arrest him for rape.
Jamal Reagon Forde, called “Sugar,” appeared before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court on Monday. He was not required to plead to the indictable charge.
Police Headquarters reported that Forde reportedly attacked a community policeman during an arrest on December 31, 2021. Forde was being arrested for allegedly raping a child under the age of 16.
Police Headquarters revealed that advice is being sought on the rape offence.
He was remanded to prison until January 31, 2022.
