Three charged with armed robbery, two released on bail


Three men appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore at the Whim Magistrate’s Court on Monday charged with two counts of armed robbery committed on Cassieann Demendona, a 24-year-old female cashier and Sureen Sukpaul.
Charged are Delroy Parks, a 38-year-old farmer of Cromarty Village, Corentyne; Mark Lovell, a 33-year-old labourer of Lancaster Squatting Area, Corentyne, Berbice; and Kevin King, an 18-year-old farmer of Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne.
Police said they were arrested on December 31, 2021. They were not required to enter a plea; Parks was remanded to prison while Lovell and King were placed on $75,000 bail for each offence.
The case was adjourned to March 28, 2022. Meanwhile, Parks was charged separately with the armed robbery of Pamela Ramotar, a 47-year-old housewife; Nickey Sony, a 36-year-old businessman and a 16-year-old male student, all of Cromarty Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
