Prominent Berbice Senior Counsel faces arrest for attempting $3M bribe of murder witness
Police are making efforts to arrest a prominent Senior Counsel from Berbice who is at the center of allegations of attempting to obstruct the course of justice by bribing a murder witness with $3 million to change her statement.
The police have already arrested a 63-year-old man of New Amsterdam in connection with the probe. The woman who was offered the bribe is a witness to the murder of 24- year-old Ronnet Nicholson-Prince who was brutally stabbed to death in December 2016 by her husband.
The witness claimed that during the month of June 2018 the lawyer and the pensioner met with her and told her that the family of the murder accused Sheldon Prince is willing to pay her $3 million to change her statement.
