Ranks of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) seized a total of 202 pounds (92 kg) of cannabis with a street value of $12.1 million on Sunday.
CANU in a statement noted that the illegal drug was discovered in several parcels in Scottsburg Village, Corentyne Berbice. One person has since been arrested and is assisting with the investigation.
The bulky parcels were found in the vicinity of the seawall at Scottsburg.
The parcels were taken to CANU Headquarters in Georgetown where it was tested and weighed.
