Tuschen man wanted for armed robbery found hiding in toilet; ammo & ganja found

Police on Saturday arrested a 26-year-old man who is wanted for questioning in relation to armed robbery; he was found hiding inside a toilet in a house at Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo.

According to Police Headquarters, the man is the main suspect in the armed robbery committed on the Papie Superbet Shop on November 9, 2021, at Tuschen Public Road.

The police noted that between 05:30hrs and 06:30hrs, ranks carried out a cordon and search exercise at the house of a 22-year-old vendor at Stelling Road Tuschen for drugs, guns and ammunition.

During the search, contact was made with a 32-year-old female and as the search proceeded, they found the suspect in the toilet.

Meanwhile, during a search of the yard, two small paint pots were found between some grass in the back yard containing two suspected cannabis plants with a measurement of about six inches in height.

The trio was questioned about the said plants and the 22-year-old replied saying that “them plant is me plant, is I plant them.”

A further search in the yard unearthed a bulky black plastic bag that contained one live suspected 7.62×39 ammunition along with one .22 live ammunition.

They were all arrested and escorted to the Leonora Police Station.
