Berbice woman, teen boy charged with theft, breaking and entering

A 48-year-old woman of No. 52 Village, Corentyne, Berbice and an 18-year-old of New Amsterdam, Berbice both appeared in separate courts on Wednesday and were charged with larceny and break and enter, respectively.

Nazeerah Ally appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore at the No. 51 Magistrate’s Court where she pleaded not guilty to the offence and was granted $50,000 bail.

She was arrested on December 29, 2021 after she reportedly stole from Chandra Sookram. The case was postponed until February 18, 2022.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old Tyreece Gonsalves Sabola also appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore at the New Amsterdam’s Magistrate Court.

The teen was not required to enter a plea when the charge was read to him. He is accused of breaking into the house of John Samuel Rose at Cumberland, East Canje Berbice and stole an electric motorcycle and an Iphone X.

Sabola was remanded to prison until March 3, 2022.
