Off-spinner Junior Sinclair took a match haul of 11-59 to be the standout performer in the second Four-Day practice match for the Guyana Harpy Eagles which ended Sunday at the Albion Community Ground.

Sinclair bowled 36 overs, of which 19 were maidens, to produce stellar figures for Keemo Paul XI’s who defeated Leon Johnson’s XI by eight wickets on day three.

The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club player, backed up his 5-18 in the first innings, to produce an even better spell of 6-41 which bowled out Johnson’s XI for 163 in 71.4 overs.

Once again Sinclair was supported by left-arm spinner Antony Adams (2-41), who also has pressed a substantial case for selection when the Regional Four-Day Championship commences next month.

The duo’s performance meant Paul’s XI only had to chase a meager 67, and they reached 71-2 in 12.2 overs compliments of Trevon Griffith (30) and Seon Glasgow Jr. (26*).

Another off-spinner, Kevin Sinclair also had a good outing, taking 5-61 in the Paul’s XI first innings of 218 which was built on Tagenarine Chanderpaul (86) and Griffith’s 67.

The third and final practice match is from January 20-23 at a venue to be named.
