The Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) held its inaugural meeting for 2022 on January 16, where it was announced that 16 teams have signed up for the season, which will serve off shortly.
According to the BVA, the teams registered for competitions in 2022 are Orealla (male and female), Upper Corentyne Industrial Training Centre, Number 70, Number 55, Number 52, Number 47, Black Bush, Whim Assembly of God, GTCPM, PMTC, Rollers (male and female), East Bank Berbice, Vikings, Three Doors Strikers, Hopetown Strikers (male and female) and Kendall Union.
Among the activities planned this year are a male and female memorial tournament to be held in Orealla, followed by a volleyball extravaganza for all male and female teams in Berbice.
The BVA added that sponsors have already committed to other tournaments this year, but the dates are yet to be finalised.
Also coming out of the meeting was the formation of a Coaches Commission and the Competitions Committee.
