Police in Regional Division #10 are currently on the hunt for three males who allegedly robbed a family of four and shot one of the victims before escaping with three cellphones and gold jewellery valued at $400,000.

Police Headquarters reported that the three bandits pounced on the family at around 20:15hrs at their Blue Berry Hill, Wismar Linden house on Sunday and held them at gunpoint.

They demanded gold and valuables; in the process, the perpetrator who was armed with a firearm, discharged two rounds as his accomplices relieved the family of their belongings.

As they were making their escape, a male cousin – Corwin Sampson – was returning his cousin’s motorcycle when he was accosted by the perpetrators and was shot to his left knee before being relieved of his silver chain valued at $20,000 and a silver ring valued at $5,000, after which they made good their escape in an unknown direction.

The injured man was rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was treated and admitted a patient.

Sergeant Chand, Detective Corporal Layne and Detective Corporal Greene are leading the investigations.
