A 26-year-old motorcyclist is in stable condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital following an accident with a car on the Cumberland Public Road, East Canje Berbice on Sunday morning.

Avesh Narain of King Street, Cumberland, is nursing several injuries after he was flung off his motorcycle and fell onto the road surface.

Police said he drove his motorcycle CK 128 at a fast rate and made a sudden turn into the path of motorcar PZZ 30, driven by 43-year-old Keion Young.

He collided with the front right portion of the car before he was flung from the motorcycle.

The young man was picked up by public-spirited citizens in a conscious condition and taken to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he was examined and treated him for a fractured right leg and later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Sergeant George and a party of policemen from Central Police Station are conducting investigations and a breathalyzer test was conducted on the driver of the car which recorded zero. He, however, remains in custody as investigations continue.
