Guyanese Narayan Ramdhani made a flawless start to the new Badminton season, copping gold in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference Badminton Championship in Canada.
Playing at King’s University, Guyana’s top seeded player copped the Men’s Single title and then teamed up with Abigail Ledda to win the Mixed Doubles.
In the Singles competition, top seed Ramdhani drew a bye in the first round, before defeating David Jay 21-12, 21-14, and then thumping Brandon Gendre 21-5, 21-6.
The final was a clash of the top two seeds, and it was Ramdhani who prevailed 21-12, 15-21, 21-19 against Smit Patel.
In the Mixed Doubles, Ramdhani and Ledda gained a bye in the first round.
They then defeated Aakash Panchal and Erica Jorgensen 21-4, 21-10. In the final against Smit Patel and Ivy Ung, Ramdhani and Ledda gained a walkover.
