Police in Berbice have arrested 39-year old Ravello Tyndall of Corentyne, Berbice in connection with the shooting of a 17-year-old boy on Thursday night.
Commander of Region Six Bhudnarine Persaud confirmed that the shooting took place at around 21:30hrs; the teenager was shot twice – once to the face and left side buttocks.
He is currently in serious condition at the New Amsterdam Hospital. The News Room understands that Tyndall has denied shooting the teen.
The Commander, however, noted that the suspect was swabbed for gunpowder residue as detectives hope to recover the weapon.
The News Room understands that the victim resides some 200 yards away from the accused; the motive for the shooting is not yet clear.
