The Guyana Police Force’s Women’s footballers this week met with and expressed appreciation to one of their sponsors, following victory at the Guyana Football Federation/Guyana National Women’s Football Association’s Super 16 Festival.

On January 2, Police defeated GT Panthers 4-2 to win the competition at the National Track and Centre, Leonora.

“Connections Travel Service (C.T.S) is a big supporter of sports and beyond its obligations as the official travel service for the Guyana Football Federation (GFF), the company has been supportive of all forms of sports in Guyana for many years,” the Guyana Police Force said in a press release.

“Manager of the CTS, Ms. Tricia Fiedtkou said that the company has enjoyed partnerships with the Guyana Police Force, for its largely celebrated ‘Athletics Competitions’ over the years, while adding that despite the fact that competitions were not held most recently, they facilitated the arrival of one of the team’s players – a contribution which bore ‘good fruits’ at the Super 16 Festival Tournament, 2021.”

Team Manager, Assistant Superintendent Rockwell Delph, also expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the continued support, noting that training may equip athletes, but their trajectory is also strongly determined by the support they receive from sponsors.

“Our champions are honoured and still celebrating their win as they continue to represent women, the Guyana Police Force and the local sports fraternity,” the Force noted.
