Police searching for four women who burnt 24-Y-O with acid

Four women who have all been identified are being asked to turn themselves in as police continue their investigations into allegations that they dosed a woman with a corrosive liquid on Friday last.

The incident occurred at about 20:40hrs at the corner or Norton and John Streets, Georgetown.

According to a report from police headquarters, 24-year-old Renesha Maxwell of West Ruimveldt Georgetown took a taxi from Leopold Street when she observed a car following her.

She told the driver to stop and when he did, she saw four females exiting the trailing car and approached her. One of the women then threw a liquid substance on her and she immediately felt a burning sensation about her body.

She was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where she was seen and treated by Dr. Yearwood and admitted with burns to her back and left hand. Her condition is now regarded as stable.

The matter was reported and the police are currently investigating the incident.
