BREAKING: Berbice businesswoman robbed of millions in front of bank
An Albion, Berbice, businesswoman was Monday morning robbed of over $10 million in front of the Republic Bank in Rose Hall.
Regional Commander Boodnarine Persaud disclosed that the robbery occurred at around 11:00 hrs.
The News Room understands that Nalini Mangali, of Albion Front, Corentyne, Berbice, and a female employee left with a bag containing a large sum of cash to deposit at the bank.
Upon their arrival at the entrance of the bank, an unidentified man armed with a handgun accosted them.
The gunman ordered the female employee to lie on the ground as he grabbed the bag containing over $10 million and escaped.
The News Room understands that this is the fifth time the family has been robbed.
