    Guyana’s COVID-19 death toll increased to 1, 138 with four more COVID-19 related deaths recorded between January 22 and 24. With these latest deaths, a total of 83 persons have died for January thus far.

    Two of the persons who died were unvaccinated while the other two vaccination status is unknown.

    The details on the persons who died are as follow;

    Meanwhile, a total of 173 new cases were recorded from 535 deaths, taking the overall number of confirmed cases to 57, 400.

    The new cases were recorded in the following regions; Region One (two cases), Region Two (10 cases), Region Three (12 cases), Region Four (118 cases), Region Five (five cases), Region Six (13 cases), Region Seven (one case), Region Eight (one case) and Region Ten (11 cases).

    There are 20 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 184 are in institutional isolation and 13, 175 are in home isolation.

    To date, 42, 883 people have recovered from the virus.
