Police on the East Coast of Demerara (ECD) have arrested a 28-year-old construction worker who was found with an illegal makeshift fireman and ammunition early on Monday.
According to the police report, ranks of the Cove and John Police Station, acting on information, conducted an intelligence-led operation at Foulis, ECD.
The construction worker was leaving his yard at 10th Street, Foulis, when the police arrived. Police said a search unearthed the firearm and one 12-guage cartridge.
“The suspect was told of the offenses committed, cautioned and arrested,” Police said.
The suspect, along with the firearm and ammunition, was then escorted to the Cove and John Police Station where he was detained and the firearm was marked and lodged.
