Motorcyclist, 19, injured in Charlestown hit and run

Nineteen-year-old Keshon David of William Street, Kitty, Georgetown suffered a fractured skull after he was involved in a hit and run accident at the intersection of Broad and Lyng Streets, Charlestown on Sunday.

David is hospitalised in a serious condition, Police Headquarters reported.

The accident occurred at about 13:00hrs and according to the police, David was speeding on his motorcycle.

According to the police, the young man was proceeding north along Lyng Street and reportedly failed to adhere to the stop sign at the Broad Street intersection.

As a result, he ended up in the path of a blue Honda CRV PJJ 4170. Police have not been able to identify the owner or driver of the vehicle.

After the collision, the driver fled the scene while David was picked up in a semi-conscious state and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Investigations are ongoing.
