    A 65-year-old fully vaccinated woman from Region Four (Demerara- Mahaica), who died on January 30, is Guyana’s latest COVID-19 death, according to the Ministry of Health.

    With this woman’s death, there have been 1,166 COVID-19 deaths recorded since the start of the pandemic in March, 2020. And, 111 of those deaths were recorded during this month alone.

    Meanwhile, another 353 people have been infected with the novel coronavirus over a 24-hour period. With these additional cases, the number of confirmed infections in Guyana since March 11, 2020 has increased to 59,803

    These new infections were recorded from: Region One (one case), Region Two (27 cases), Region Three (46 cases), Region Four (200 cases), Region Five (six cases), Region Six (31 cases), Region Eight (18 cases), Region Nine (18 cases) and Region 10 (six cases).

    There are also 16 patients receiving critical care in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 203 people are in institutional isolation, six people are in institutional quarantine and 11,324 people are in home isolation.

    Importantly, a total of 47,094 people have recovered after they were infected with the disease.
