A man who allegedly broke into the Bagotville Post Office located on the West Bank of Demerara has been arrested.
Police Headquarters reported that the man was found hiding inside a room at the post office. The incident occurred at about 03:05hrs on Monday.
Police said ranks in Regional Division Three acted on information received and visited the post office where they observed that an external wooden wall was broken.
The police searched the premises when they discovered the suspect hiding. He was immediately arrested and taken to the La Grange police station.
