COVID-19: Three more die, 220 new cases recorded

Three more persons died from the dreaded COVID-19 taking Guyana’s overall death toll to 1,171.

The latest victims are:

– an 83-year-old woman of Region Seven (unvaccinated)

– a 30-year-old woman of Region Four (unvaccinated)

– a 76-year-old man of Region 10 (vaccination status unknown)

They all died on February 1, 2022.

Meanwhile, 220 new infections have been recorded from 1,444 tests, increasing the overall confirmed cases to 60,109.

Those cases were recorded in: Region One (58 cases), Region Two (14 cases), Region Three (14 cases), Region Four (90 cases), Region Six (15 cases), Region Seven (17 cases), Region Nine (nine cases) and Region 10 (three cases).

There are also 13 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 184 people are in institutional isolation and 9,447 people are in home isolation.

To date, 49,294 people have recovered from the virus.
