Chutney/Soca Monarch hopeful gets Team Mohamed’s support

Bunty Singh, who finished as first runner-up at the 2021 Chutney/Soca Monarch Competition, has gotten the support of Team Mohamed’s, through its principal Azruddin Mohamed, for this year’s competition.

Mohamed, who is also the Managing Director at Mohamed’s Enterprise, has been on a mission to assist young people on development programmes.

In an invited comment, he stated, “Over the years, young people have taken on a massive role in the development of the cultural landscape of Guyana whether in the form of music, art, sport or politics.”

He explained that this has propelled him to support young people who attempt to develop their art form, which can have a positive impact on the next generation.

It is the hope of Mohamed that other corporate entities can see it fit to support the country’s young people and help them to realise their full potential.

Singh, a three-time champion, expressed immense gratitude for the invaluable support and revealed this year his song will be titled “We Rising Up”.

It was written by him and recorded in his studio at Bath Settlement, West Coast Berbice.
